The Fox Theatre announced today its annual benefit concert Revival, featuring headliner The Indigo Girls and special guests Charlie Starr with Benji Shanks of Blackberry Smoke will take place on Sunday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. Once again hosted by Atlanta native and famed musician Kevn Kinney of Drivin n Cryin, Fox Theatre’s Revival benefit concert will raise money to preserve and restore Georgia’s historic theaters and expand its education and community outreach arm through multiple live auctions. This unique musical event is inspired by the power of storytelling and the role theaters play in bringing communities together. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, Feb. 23 and can be purchased by visiting foxtheatre.org or by calling 855-285-8499.
“We're thrilled to announce that Revival will feature the renowned artists The Indigo Girls and Charlie Starr with Benji Shanks of Blackberry Smoke,” said Leigh Burns, Director of the Fox Theatre’s community partnerships program. “This annual benefit is all about celebrating our state's rich theater and music culture, bringing together fans and supporters in Atlanta for a memorable evening of performances and meaningful fundraising.”
All concert attendees will be invited to participate in a “Fund-A-Mission” auction driven by YOUR ROCKTIONEER™. This live component will help raise money for the Fox Theatre’s dynamic outreach program, which was founded in 2008 in response to a statewide need for assistance with the restoration and operation of Georgia’s historic theatres. Celebrating its 16th anniversary and awarding $3.2 million in financial support, the program offers historic preservation and operations expertise, consultation and educational support to performing arts venues in Georgia and the southeast region.
Last year, Atlanta’s Fox Theatre helped restore and preserve historic theaters across the state giving $500,000 in grants to 12 theaters, including three in metro Atlanta, The Strand in Marietta, Northwest Atlanta’s Grove Theatre and Fairburn’s Southside Theatre Guild. The Strand used more than $31,000 to upgrade its sound system. Grove Theatre received $70,000 to help with repairs to re-open. Lastly, The Southside Theatre Guild upgraded its lighting using a $20,000 donation.
This year’s concert proceeds will go to one of the core outreach programs, “Fox in a Box,” which directly benefits elementary school students throughout Georgia. “Fox in a Box” teaches students about the communal history of the Fox Theatre and challenges them to think about the importance of communities banding together to protect what is important to them. “Revival’s” Fund-A-Mission sponsor and Official Bank of the Fox Theatre, Regions Bank, will generously match audience donations raised during this interactive five-minute fundraiser. More details on how to participate in this auction and others are coming soon. Fans are encouraged to check the event’s web page at foxtheatre.org for more information.
The Marquee Club presented by Lexus, will be open for the event and accessible to anyone with a Marquee Club Level seat in the Loge (front balcony) of the theatre or annual members. An exclusive pre-show, live auction will take place in the Marquee Club, featuring packages with themes ranging from Georgia Staycation to Broadway Fanatic! Other amenities of the Marquee Club include pre-show food from a seasonal menu prepared by the Fox Theatre’s in-house chef, private restrooms and bars with premium products for purchase. Rooftop access is exclusive to the Marquee Club and provides the perfect backdrop for guests to wine, dine and relax before, during or after the concert.
